The things we do for our children

I feel like death warmed over. I'm sneezing so hard I'm pretty sure part of my brain has fallen out. ( don't think I'd know it's gone though ) anyways. Today just happens to be a very special day. It's Dr. Suess' birthday. (yes it is...check google) I LOVED Dr. Suess growing up...loved Richard Scarry more but, loved Suess none the less. My kids ADORE him. Their favorite movies are How the Grinch stole Christmas and Horton Hears A Who. We have 15 books of his. How could we skip this day? So tonight I will be hauling my sick, sneezing butt to the store to get the ingredients. Then, we will be coming home and making this CAKE . This shouldn't be considered a cake. It should be considered a masterpiece. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it and I will cherish the memories. But, oh, the words I will say. Under my breath of course...while dying over our oven. Because if you've ever been a sick wife, or a sick mom, or a sick mom and wife, you know there's nothing worse than standing over a stove with a fever, or even worse, a breaking fever. But, my kids will love it, we'll sing Happy Birthday, watch Horton, read the books, and once again recite Trent's favorite quote: "Be who you are for those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter." - Dr. Suess

Happy Birthday, Dr. Suess. You sir, were a GENIUS!
